Solutions

Our service offerings include expert analysis, consulting and custom software/database development, grounded in rigorous analytical methodologies.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Value Chain Analysis

Resource Efficiency

Custom Software/Database

Modeling, Simulation and Optimization Applications

  • Business process analysis, for both manufacturing and service industries, with special interests in quantifying/improving environmental impacts and modeling/analyzing lean processes

  • Public policy analysis, particularly at the intersection of social, economic and environmental issues, ranging from global trade to local recycling

  • Market impact analysis for sustainability initiatives and projects

Methodologies and Implementation

Our solutions are based on a variety of analytical methodologies depending on the problem, including:

  • Life cycle assessment

  • Material flow analysis

  • Combinatorial path tracing

  • Industrial metabolism

  • Optimization methods of operations research

  • Statistical analysis

  • Network analysis and optimization algorithms

  • Simulation methods

    • System dynamics

    • Discrete-event simulation

    • Agent-based simulation

We often use one of our proprietary software tools and databases in service projects. We can also quickly develop high-quality custom software tools and solutions using a variety of programming languages, and can leverage our existing software infrastructure. We can combine third-party simulation and analysis software with proprietary software as needed to create unique, application-specific solutions.

Deliverables

Our deliverables depend on the specific project and typically include one or more of the following:

  • Detailed reports of analysis, simulation and/or optimization projects, including methodologies used, data sources, results, and appropriate interpretation and recommendations

  • Custom software tools and databases, as standalone solutions or to augment other tools

  • Calibrated and tested analysis/simulation models for use with our proprietary software or other third-party software

Working With Us

We typically engage with customers on the basis of fixed-cost deliverables (and occasionally on a time-based consulting basis). We provide affordable, high-quality solutions with a quick turnaround time. Our software is licensed to customers as standalone products or as part of larger service agreements. We also work in partnership with other software firms, consultants, universities, and nonprofit organizations in cases where we can add value through our complementary products, services and expertise. Please contact us for more information.
